The Jacket Insert Expansion Panel is a solution for pregnant people and parents carrying infants. The shaped panel uses the jacket’s existing zipper to expand the garment, resulting in plenty of space to keep baby close and warm. The panel is a product for both expecting and baby-wearing parents.
My Role:
Partnered with design to find an innovative solution for how to keep an existing jacket in use throughout pregnancy and parenthood.
Created a multitude of concept prototype versions to explore various feature options and improve design based on field testing feedback.
Created a product that embodies Patagonia’s value of keeping products in use for longer by encouraging families to pass the panel along from baby-wearer to baby-wearer.
