This custom Aluula pack was designed for Zahan Billmoria, a Patagonia athlete. It was created as a custom request and served as a testbed for a new material. The 28-liter pack, weighing just 98 grams per square meter, offers exceptional lightness and durability, thanks to Aluula V98 Graphlite, a revolutionary material produced through a patented fusion process that combines polymer films. This innovation enhances performance across various terrains. The pack features fully taped seams, self-bonded lash points, a tool sheath with a magnetic Fidlock closure, and dedicated storage pockets for ropes and snow safety tools.
My Role:
Collaborated with another designer in the initial phase and took full responsibility for designing, creating patterns, prototyping, and building the product.
Created unique solutions and inventive workarounds for obstacles faced during the construction of a multi-volume seam taped pack.
Modified existing Descensionist pattern to accommodate new material platform.
